Beginning HolyGate

When signing up for HackForums, you have one goal in mind. To hack. Whether this be for illogical purposes, revengeful ones, or simply for the sake of knowledge, that one goal is always on your mind. Now, when you have first joined, you'll want some help, right? Of course. That's everybody's first instinct when they don't understand something. But let me give you a few tips when you don't understand something:

-Use the Search feature when you need something. If you have a question, someone probably has had the same one.
  • Try to re-read a tutorial if you don't understand.

Asking for Help

There are many threads asking for help. May it be with "OMGZ HACK THIS GUY" or "I CANT GET MY PHISHER TO WORKZ WHAY!?" it doesn't matter. They go about the wrong way with their approach. Here's some tips when asking for help:
  • People don't like idiots begging for help when they know you can learn it yourself. This will just get you flamed, and disrespected.
    ---
  • Do not POST IN CAPS. It makes you look rather immature, and no one wants to answer to that.
    ---
  • Next, HFers don't enjoy the constant requests inflowing without some respective payment in-return for there services.
    ---
  • Don't call yourself a "noob" when asking for help, it doesn't get you pity, it gets you a flamed ass.

Now, I would like to note this is for beginners asking for help. I know many older members know how to post. (Most of the time.)

Another kind point: The "White Hat Help" section is not a place for hacking help, unless you have been the slave of an attack. A many of too members post in this section asking for hacking help with there bots, key-loggers and such. This is not the section. White Hat Help is for those who give security advice, and assist those who's PC has a problem.

Gaining Respect

To gain respect on this site, you need to post legitimate, informative information. Or, you could just simply be a cool member and post fun stuff. It's not hard to gain respect, if you do it right.

Staying cool under pressure

Okay, when you're new, in most circumstances, YOU WILL BE [Image: fire_24.png]. It happens. But.. you want to attack back, right? Right. Should you? No. Flamers just want you to get up-set and lose your cool. Don't give them that satisfaction, and keep your cool. Report the post and ignore them. The staff will handle it.

Warnings & Reputations

Let me tell you something - read the rules. It'll keep you from getting warnings. And if you get one, it's not the end of world, just move on and try do better. That simple.

Reputations - you get them when you deserve them. DO NOT ASK FOR THEM, IT RESULTS IN A WARNING. Also, you CANNOT give reputation unless you're HF L33T. I've seen to many new members saying: "If you helpz mah, ill give you ++REEP".. That's wrong. You can't offer rep now, and you can't give-out with L33t.

Here are current warnings:

Reporting Posts

Reporting users posts is quite easy. Once you read the rules, and familiarize yourself with them, picking out posts/threads that do not follow the rules are easy. A new member should report new posts. Like everyone else. It makes them become better members, and it shows them responsibility and what not to do when posting.

You report by clicking the Report button on the bottom right of peoples posts. There is a drop-down reason list, you just choose from that, and send.
